Dare to go there?



I'm no genius - as if that is not evident by now - but I wanted to throw up a bell curve and speak to it (no previous stats knowledge required.) So in the image to the left you have a familiar 'distribution' which has a big fat middle section. I want to ask you this - do you dare to go after those folks that are on the tails? - (Early adopters - or extreme customers). For me this is exaclty whom I want to work with. I want fanatics, folks who are rabid about images and the highest quality. Why should I scream at people in the middle of the curve who are just about 'average'? I wouldn't - is that who you're working with? - should it be? Dare to go out to the fringe? If you do, have fun, it's risky - but I think it's where the reward lies.
