Samatha goes to Prom

Took some pictures of a family friend today- Samantha and she was off to prom tonight!! Had a lot of fun and realized I still have a lot to learn ;) Shooting Samantha getting ready kind of brought me back to high school. Anyways -

Coming up the curve ....

So, with me moving to california - I couldn't leave Holly high and dry without a partner in crime. Thus, I have been secretly developing a rock star photographer to take my place..... none other than ..... Mindy - my sister! We shot a wedding last fall and from there she was hooked. Here are a few images Min made today so we could go through our work flow. Enjoy.

Branding - It matters

Hi kids!!
Okay - so per the usual I've been looking around and thinking about stuff - just random off the wall stuff. I've come to the (rather obvious) conclusion (one that I've known all along) that branding matters. Hence the monkeying around with the image above. I think I have settled my internal issues with the idea of branding. Before, like two days ago maybe, I thought branding was a bit "dirty" - but it's not. It's not verbose, it's not brash (unless your brand is brash). It's how you communicate (like it or not) with the world. I am limited - I have to sleep - I live where I live - I have obligations - blah - blah. My brand, (especially in web 2.0 Facebook twitter etc etc) is not limited.

So, before I go to california (in like 4 weeks YEAH!!~!!!) I will answer the brand question for this little venture we have going. It may even lead me to not post raw transparent stuff here though..... nah - we're transparent - through and through. :) Anyways, have a glorious evening, morning, afternoon - or whatever time it is that you come across this.

Animoto - This is an interesting idea

Animoto is this cool service (in beta) that allows you to upload your pics + music and automatically turns them into a video. The video above is a demo. 30second demos are free. You can make full length videos for $ - though. Check it out by clicking here. This could be a good way to communicate for soooo many different people. You can rock it on facebook, mysapaz, or email it around. Anyways - go monkey around with it if I've enticed you - it's pretty fun.

Photoshop Express

Hey kids. You may have already heard of this Adobe offering, but maybe not.

It's photoshop express, and it's a web based editing approach to online pictures.

You upload, edit, and store - all running off of Adobe's servers.

It's in Beta version, but you can certainly try it out and see what it can do for you.

I'll probably play with it a bit and see what it has to offer. You should head over

This past Friday I had gotten a call from Kristen. I've known Kristen and her family for quite some time, and she kind of new I was photographer on the side. So, she asked me to take some images of her new daughter....

I thought kid pictures!! NO WAY!!! Of course I said yes, cause I'm a softie and today we had a go at making some images of the young lady.

I will say this: Taking images of kids is HARD... they are not always the most willing participants. I think we managed to grab a few good ones though, but it's not something that I'll be taking up full time. Here are a few of my favorites Enjoy :)

I know, I know, posting youtube videos is so un-original, but whatever. This little guy will put a smile on your face from ear to ear. It's freaking awesome. I love music. I think you have to if you are human - unless you try really, really, really, hard not to. My advice, just like music.
